P-51D Mustang Display at the Whanganui Air Ambulance Trust's open day,

Sean Perrett’s sign off to the crowd, was a perfect low pass…

After a long period of storage, meticulous rebuild, and a successful test program. Brendon Deere and Sean Perrett are now showing off this beautiful example of an RNZAF P-51D Mustang to an adoring public.

At last weekends Whanganui Air Ambulance Trust's open day, the crowd numbers peaked for the landing and takeoff times, with quite a lull in between. The weather which was showery and cool, broke just in time to make a very pleasant autumnal day.

When it was time to leave, Sean in one swift pass reminded us all, just how good he is. Building speed over the river, Sean dove down out of view behind the buildings. When he came back into view, the plane was in a beautiful low arcing pass over the airfield, the engine screaming it's salute to the crowd. The crowd drew in their breath, and then applauded,

Thanks Sean, Brendon and the Biggin Hill Historic Aircraft Centre, RNZAF Ohakea for rebuilding this amazing plane and sharing it with us all.
