Winner -Massey University Biodiversity Competition

Winning image

Yesterday the winner was announced and my image of a tui was chosen as the winning image.

I have been working at the Turitea campus of Massey University for over 20 years. Its a beautiful campus nestled in the hills above Palmerston North. Because of its location, the gardeners and long term planning, we are blessed with loads of great walks, beautiful gardens and a wide range of wildlife.

Over the last couple of weeks the Sustainability team have been running a photo competition to highlight this side of Massey. Thanks everyone for the effort involved and promoting this aspect of our university. I hope it encourages more people to get out and make use of gift we have been giving, and by being more aware of it, take some more ownership in protecting it.

It’s fair to say a number of people I work with know that I am into photography, but I have never had so many people come up to me and congratulate me for an image I have captured. Thanks to the Sustainability team for running the competition.
