NZ Camera
Every year I take time in the December - January holiday break to look at how things are going and what I could try to do differently. In 2023, I decided that I wanted to explore surrealism and how that might look. This year I decided I wanted to try getting more of my work out there. Entering competitions, was part of that plan, but it also includes looking for other opportunities like the NZ Camera book. NZ Camera is put together by the Photographic Society of New Zealand (PSNZ), and is compiled from images submitted by its members.
Each member of the PSNZ can submit up to two images, but only one image from each member will make it into the book. So in some ways you can see this as a salon in a book. A time capsule of the photographers, and the subjects that captivated them for this year.
A few months back I was told via email that one of my images had been selected. To know that I made it into the book was great news, but to know that of the two images, that they chose the surrealist based image made it even more special. What will I submit for 2025?
Thanks to the PSNZ and all those that put their time and effort into making this work each year.
