Aurora Australis - May 11-2024
There are times in your photographic life where the gear, the knowledge, don’t matter as much. Where the person with the cell phone next to you can get a similar shot. But then there are times when the research helps. Where technique matters and where local knowledge pays off. When combined, all of these together can make that once in a life time experience, even better.
Taputeranga Island
We were blessed with some beautiful clouds and light, a nice reward for the lack of sleep. The forecast had predicted waves up to 2 metres tall, and turn up they did. In the image you can see the sea spray billowing into the air off the rocks and into the morning light.
Foggy Sunrise
We share in each other successes, failures, set backs and triumphs. We can achieve more together and we can help when things get a little hard. We can also share a lot of fun and laughter along the way.
Longer Exposures
I ride the fine line between quality and imperfection, and through this I can find a new world to explore.
Rime Frost
Photographers all around the world know this moment. The moment when you round a corner, crest a hill or in this case run down the road when you hear your mate call "come see this". That moment when the rest of the world sleeps, and nature shows her beauty to the few that make the effort.
Hike To Tama Lakes, Tongariro National Park
With one of the last winter storms clearing the Central Plateau, we decided to do the 8 km hike to Tama Lakes in the beautiful Tongariro National Park. Come with us, feel the icy cold winds as we walk through snow showers. This beautiful landscape has to be seen to be believed. Fortunately for you, you won't need thermals on to join us, sit back and enjoy the hike.
